I usually stay in the left lane on 301 (where I am, not somd) because the tractor trailers have worn ruts in the right lane. I usually move over for faster drivers...but usually I am the faster driver.

It's not quite so easy as that on 235, another road everyone says the same thing about. There are too many left turns and people that need to use them. If they drive in the right lane because they're going a bit slower, there is no way in heck they will get back into the left lane to make a left turn. And then people will complain because they migrate across 3 lanes before making that turn interrupting at least 2 lanes of travel.

La Plata, right?

Traffic crawls through there. I hated driving in La Plata for this very reasoon. If the speed limit is 50, people drive 30.

What a load of crap! If they stayed in the right lane, people that actually have a heartbeat would be traveling from the right lane and then go into the left lane to pass and you'd be done with them. As it is on 235, everyone is doing 54 in the left lane, not making any left turns, talking on the phone, or just out there in lala land. That's my rant, I'm done with this subject because some people just can't be reached like most that drive 235. Oh by the way, for anyone that argues that people are constantly pulling out into the right lane, there's just as many pulling out from the left.

I think that other than it being annoying when you have someone is hogging the left lane it also creates dangerous situations. People are more encouraged to pass the slower left lane vehicle on the right where they cannot see around them (usually). Unfortunately, I don't think a law would do any good. It never seemed to work when I lived in PA.
I know Jersey has the law but I don't remember it being a law in my homestate of PA (I left there in 2001). Yea, Jersy cops are jerks, they have to be b/c of the shoobies

This is CLeValley's biggest gripe!!! He totally looses it when he sees people driving in the left lane.
