Sure they do.

There's just more hair back there, and it smells different when it's over.

The pieces fit, and fit very well

In all seriousness... like it or not, homosexuality is another part of biodiversity, just like race and sex. Homosexuality is found in the wild animal kingdom as well. It is a natural act that is only sexually deviant because society has labeled it as such.

This hullaballo around homosexuality is no different than the hullaballo around desegregation during the civil rights movement.

You can either jump on the bandwagon now, or continue to fight it... eventually it, too, will become a "norm".

I think it's more morally wrong to teach your children hate and bigotry.

According to the web site I visited, the day of silence is NOT recognized at any of the three St. Mary's county schools.

I checked on this about a month ago. If it had been, my son would have observed a " Day of missing school" on the same day....

It may not be "recognized" but I know hundreds of kids are set to participate. I have encouraged my children to do the same, if they want to, in the name of tolerance.

"The goal of the Day of Silence is to make schools safer for ALL students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression."

You left out the "if" part of cwo's post.

IMO the schools should NOT promote or allow this day of silence. They can't even allow a "moment of silence" for students to do with as they please without the a bunch people getting all pissy about prayer in school. BUT we can bend over backwards if we are advancing, promoting, or supporting someone's race, sexual identity, or sexual preferences.

I have "educated" my son on what the day of silence is all about. It is not about safety, it is about promoting a "lifestyle". I will encourage him to counter any display from fellow students. Perhaps he can hand out some biblical tracts since we're all about "tolerance".

If safety is the issue, maybe a day of SEAT BELT USE would be more appropriate. We have a definate issue with that in this area with that age group.

Look at the statistics. If it weren't for the vocal homosexual community, AIDS would be a minor disease in the US and would not merit the funding it has received.

More people have died of influenza and pnuemonia in the last 30 years than have died from AIDS. Yet the public perceives AIDS as a major disease we should all be concerned about, while influenza is just an inconvenience.

Tell that to my friend who contracted HIV from a blood transfusion. She's a heterosexual female.
