Is there a Day of Silence in SOMD schools Friday? My step-daughter hasn't said anything yet.

Can you imagine officials at a middle school, junior high or high school setting aside a day to promote “tolerance” for heavy smoking and drinking among children?

How about a day where teachers encourage kids to “embrace who they are,” pick up that crack pipe and give it a stiff toke?


Neither can I. The public would go ballistic, and for good reason.
But that hasn’t stopped officials in thousands of schools across the country from promoting other politically correct and socially “in-vogue” behaviors that — both statistically and manifestly — are every bit as dangerous as the aforementioned frowned-upon behaviors.


That’s exactly what the homosexual activist “Day of Silence” is all about — advancing, through clever, feel-good propaganda, full acceptance among children of the homosexual lifestyle.

The fact that we don’t have mandatory surgeon general warnings on the side of condom wrappers is a testament to the power and influence wielded by the radical homosexual lobby. (Warning: Male-male anal sodomy has been proven to shorten your lifespan by up to 20 years.)

Thanks heavens we got kids that got their heads screwed on straight (pun intended). Children are impressionable, and the agenda of the far left shouldn't be condoned by our public school officials.

Blame the author, not me, regarding the statistics. I guess the study is too difficult for an elder college student to comprehend.

I asked if this idiocy had spread from Berkeley to Southern Maryland. I don't give a rat's butt if you, as a supposed adult, support the gay lifestyle. I do care if it's being promoted in our schools.

I'll ask an intelligent 15 yo today when she gets home from school. She'll have a more coherent answer than you.

The "gay lifestyle" being supported?

Versus what, the "white lifestyle" or the "black lifestyle" or even the "straight lifestyle"?

Are you telling me that only gay people drink to excess and do heavy drugs? If that's the case, then there's a heck of a lot more gay people on somd.com than I was previously aware of...

Unless of course you're saying that drinking heavily is part of the straight lifestyle and therefore it's ok to drink heavily and party it up as long as the trains you're running don't involve homosexuality.

Why should children not be educated about homosexuality? They're educated about heterosexuality. They're educated about black history during Black History Month. They're educated about white history and all things white every single day they're in school.

Yes, I support a "homosexual" lifestyle, if that's how one chooses to live. But I also support a "heterosexual" lifestyle if that's how one chooses to live.

What I don't support is the complete bashing of any one lifestyle simply because one does not agree with it.
