Yes. That is one of the exact reasons. "Deviant" lifestyles? Are you for real? I stand up for what I believe in too. And I believe in Jesus. And I am going to heaven because I am a good person. If religious means judging people and using a book to judge another good human being, than I want none of it. And preaching hatred to me will not change my mind. I am not perfect. But I strive to be a good person. I want to be proud of what I do in this life. And from what I learned, being Catholic is not the way for me to be the best person I can be. It is the exact opposite. The older I get the more I dislike it. The gay issue is really a deal breaker for me. I have family and friends that happen to be gay. They are great people that wouldn't judge you. But you go right ahead and use the Bible to cause hurt and pain.

just for the record, I dont argue the homosexual issue based on any religious theory or teachings, the scientific world gives enough ammo without having to use the Bible, or Koran or what ever.

I have studied plenty bcp. I have spoken to some of the most well learned biblical scholars. Because I am a woman I can't be a priest? I can't be a Pope? Why? What is so inherently wrong with woman? After studing history outside the Catholic school, I found so much that was omitted from my education. Two Popes! Wars? Killing in the name of God?


I was approached about becoming a nun at one time. And I considered it very seriously. But now I just see the pain that the religion causes.
