Dial-up

I''m still on dial up because Verizon does not come where I live. Anyway, for the past week or so, it has been much slower than usual when I try to go to websites. My email speed seems the same. Any suggestions or ideas to speed things up?

Where do you live? There are other options.

I am in the same situation and finally had enough - went with satellite then EVDO came out (internet over cell phone card) - went with Sprint and it is comparable to DSL.

Search the forums for EVDO and you will find much discussion on it.

I have an internet over cell phone EVDO card that I can let you assume for just the cost of the monthly contract. The hardware and software are free. There are 13 months or so left on the contract... PM me if you're interested. My husband and I used it all over the place while finishing our college degrees. We're now done, so the need has gone away. We have our internet through Metrocast.

It is $60 a month. I had it for a while because there is no wireless at my work, decided I was paying too much for it and can deal with the Internet at work (limited access) so I got rid of it.

MetroCast's highest speed (6 meg) is $20 cheaper per month.
