I remember back to 2003 or so, when the SMCSO had some folks sitting out of sight at RT 235 and Chancellor's Run Rd and as people ran the red lights they would radio to a unit down the road who was waiting for them. They had quite a lot of cars pulled over that day, but I never saw a repeat performance.
There are different traffic initiatives happening all the time. Check points, saturation patrols (which check everything from red light runners to dwi to quality of life operations). Southern Maryland Police departments don't have the "extra" police officers to do nothing but enforce red light runners.

By the way, I am not in my police car every day. I spend just as much time in a car which is not a police car as most others. Therefore, I have the same opportunity to see the same traffic violations as the rest of us.

Please! This is so much crap. Metropolitian Police Officers don't have take home cars. I am sure they had an opportunity to see traffic violations prior to getting in your car. You are kinda full of crap!

Maybe they should do that for the people who make u turns at 237/235. Gotta love it when you are 235 making the right onto chancellor run road then some idiot tries to make an u turn that flips you off because he almost causes an accident.

I agree, but it really isn't an illegal uturn, they don't have it posted anymore.

Any time you would like to talk I'll give you the exact night that happened, and the name of the two officers in question.

So how did those two officers get to and from work without you? Did Scotty beam them up to and from their homes? Please!

I just realized that it wasn't illegal. It should be. Well people will have to get killed before they do anything. I thought that was the whole point of that intersection being that way. Perhaps it will change when 237 is redone.

I don't know why it should be illegal, but I do know if they wanted to allow u turns there they should have made the road a little wider. There's a pretty good reason to do a turn there, gets you to the Hickory Hills "mall" quicker and keeps you from going out onto 235 to get there.

In Georgetown they walked a beat. Backed up by cars. At the end of their shift they would commute home, or since they were my friends, they would stop by for a night cap wherever I was working.
