I guess you'd have to ask the son why he thought it was a good body dumping ground.

My Cousin

Hello Everyone...This is my first post. The body that was found was my 1st cousin. Regardless of who, how and what ,he was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and a beloved family member. Realizing that some of you have nothing better to do but to judge, blame, gossip and post insensitive messages about people and situations that you DON'T really know, I'm simply posting to share that this is someone that was loved and will be missed.

He was all of that, fine. But he was, uh, smart enough to run from the cops and jump in a lake knowing he couldn't swim. He sounded like he was intelligent also.

How do they know we're talking about them?

I'm amazed how posters come out of the woodwork whenever a "family member" dies and is being talked about here in a negative light. How do they know? Suddenly this man's cousin appears and before it was someone who showed up to defend that guy name Shannie who killed himself last week. Kind of creeps me out.

There are 13,401 registered users. There are many more people who come here and browse. It is not hard to imagine that a friend or family member would happen to see this.

From The Bay Net:

26-Year-Old Found Dead in Water at Chesapeake Ranch Club
LUSBY - 5/6/2008

By Sean Rice, Managing Editor
Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans confirmed this morning that an adult male, Demetrius Hall, was found dead Monday in a lake within Chesapeake Ranch Club.

A Ranch Club resident contacted The Bay Net on Monday night to report a 14-year-old neighbor discovered the body while boating and notified police.

Sheriff Evans said Hall ran from police on Friday night when officers responded to a report of a large party with possible drug activity in the Ranch Club.

Police learned later that the man who ran from police was Hall, 26. Evans said one officer gave chase, but pulled back after the running man entered the woods.

"At the time we didn't know who we were dealing with, or why he was running," Evans told The Bay Net.

On Saturday, Hall's mother called police to report he never returned home Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, officials conducted an extensive search of the area and water, with bloodhounds and rescue boats.

"We did everything we could do," the Sheriff said.

Evans said officers learned that Hall may have been running because he had an active warrant from St. Mary's County.
