You'll have to record that one. My mother-in-law has a bird book that has a recording of each birds call, I use it every once in a while to id a call. Or you can do an online search of the bird you think it is and most sites have a recording of the common calls for that bird.
When I was out in West Virginia earlier this spring, we had a bird in the yard that made a buzzing sound like a cicada ending with a throaty whistle. It was a ground dwelling bird. I used the MIL's book to find out it was a Woodcock. Good luck in your hunt for an answer!

Could possibly be a Chuck-Wills-Widow. Not likely, but not impossible.

Is it like a clear whistle... like someone calling their dog? If so, it's a Cardinal.

It could be a grackle or a mockingbird. Have you been able to catch any kind of a glimpse? Mockingbirds sing at night, lovely music.

Does the song stay all on one note... or do the tones go up? Or down? Is it a gutteral grunt kind of sound? Soft or loud?

Probably the mockingbird, they sing at night and can be rather annoying, I have one that likes my bedroom windowsill.

I have a quick hummingbird question since we are talking about birds. I have a feeder hanging from my front porch and I haven't seen 1 hummingbird. Should I place it some where else?? TIA

I would leave it. You need to have at least 3 feeders. The male will always guard one at all times and chases the females and other males away. They are very territorial(sp?)

The sound isn't working for me of couse but it doesn't sound like a dove. The original poster should have spelled the sound woop or wewp. That's all that damn thing does.
