Correspondence Schools?

What is your opinion on these? Do you think they are legit and that if you earn a degree through them they will be taken seriously by those who are hiring? For example if I take a paralegal class and earn a degree do you think I would be able to compete with other paralegals that went to a "real" school?

I want to further my education but I am one of those "above the below but below the upper" incomes so I don't get financial aide and can't afford the cost of paying tuition at a regular community college. I was thinking of doing something like this but don't have much knowledge of these schools.

I doubt it will be any cheaper getting a degree online than at Chuck U. Brick and mortar verses online for a technician type position like Paralegal I would guess its not looked at much. Your resume and your interviewing skills are the most important credientals you can have for entry level positions. well any position.

you know the answer and if you do not goto a brick and mortar school you will always be second guessing yourself. I say sign up at Chuck U.(csm) formerly charles county Community college.

It really depends on the job. The more prestigious the job the better the college you'll need.

For a paralegal job, unless its for a high-quality prestine law firm, I don't know if it makes much of a difference.

However, put yourself in their shoes. Just hope that you don't have competition from more prestigious schools.

Save your money . Most of these schools are worthless.

Just be careful they are not a "diploma factory." You could think about starting off slow and taking one class a semester. As your income increases and you have more time and willingness to take on more, add another class (or two). Good luck w/whatever you decide!
