The National Weather Service Has Issued Tornado Watch 283 In Effect Until 3 Am Edt Friday For The Following Areas In Maryland This Watch Includes 3 Counties In Southern Maryland Calvert Charles St. Marys In Virginia This Watch Includes 3 Counties In Central Virginia King George Spotsylvania In Northern Virginia Stafford In Virginia This Watch Includes 1 Independent City In Central Virginia City Of Fredericksburg This Includes The Cities Of...chesapeake Beach...dahlgren... Falmouth...fredericksburg...spotsylvania Courthouse... St Marys And Waldorf.

| Charlottesville is getting slammed. Tornado warning and major thunderstorm rolling through there. Not to wish bad luck on everybody else, but I am hoping it all stays west of us. I don't like bad weather at night. Freaks me out.

| OK, I'm about to ask a question that shows that I'm fairly new to the area, so forgive me if I sound naive.  It seems that we've been getting a decent amount of tornado watches lately (at least a lot more than I've ever heard of, which was basically none). Is it usually like this in the spring/summer down here? I've always lived on the east coast and just didn't think that tornados were all that common around here. |
