FINALLY the voice of reason.
I feel sick thinking about for the torment this little boy will suffer for his entire life.

Then why bring it out in the middle of the school year?

Why not wait until summer, let him start dressing as a girl, THEN introduce her as a new student in the fall?

They are onny looking at making a statement using this 8 year old boy, instead of thinking of the easiest way and method of making a transition like this.

They are trying to force their 'girl' on the entire community, like it or not.

That's what I was thinking. Why else would this be an issue with an 8 year old?

Transgendered and gay are not the same thing. Gay people are quite happy with the parts they were born with, they are just attracted to people with the same equipment.

It's too bad adults are so close-minded. Children are very open-minded...until their parents teach them otherwise.

My god daughter has gone to school since 1st grade with a boy who goes to school dressed as a girl, and not once has anyone been up in arms about it, in fact most parents admit it's a little weird but they don't encourage their children to treat the child any differently. My god daughter is now a freshman in HS with the child still in her class.

Quit making such a big deal out of this, if you don't like anything remotely homosexual in your public school, take your child and put them in to a religious school where they will be brought up in the same strict religous thinking to which you'd have them accustomed.

If you dont like other kids pointing and snickering when your gay trained child walks into the classroom, then I suggest dressing him as he was born. Scientifically speaking mind you.

It's a common courtesy thing.

Sure, if you see someone walking down the street dressed in a crazy outfit, you might snicker and laugh to yourself... if you're with friends you might even say "Hey, look at that yahoo", but you're not going to walk right up to him and say "Dude, you're dressed like a crazy person, we don't tolerate the likes of you around here!"

They're asking the 3rd graders to simply respect that this person is going through a gender confusion, and to please be sensitive when making comments.

It's a common courtesy to treat people with respect and manners, even if you disagree with what they do or who they are.
