I agree. People have alot to say when they see a kid acting up. You know you've seen the screaming kid in walmart and thought to yourself..I would whip his butt if he were my kid. Alot of parents dont because they are afraid of what someone will say. We need to get these kids in line now. It will be too late later on.

Stealing

Public humilation in front of his peers doesn't sound like any kind of a long term solution to me. It would seem that the other kids would carry this around with them which could create a lifetime of shame for him. No matter what he did to turn himself around he would always have the taint of the theft and humilation as an additional burden. I think this would scar him for life more than heal him and it isn't any kind of a deterrent. It would just drive this sort of activity underground. Guilt trip him, shame him as what he did is your own personal shame too. He has got to be impressed that stealing is wrong and against the law. Let him know that unless he turns himself around now this is where he is going and that you will see to it that the punishment will fit the crime. Take another look at his friends. May be time to clean house of them.

Bleeding heart! The only good thing you said was the last line, clean house of his loser friends. Then beat his ass and send him to school with his sign.

I'm afraid there will be many more of those tomorrow when he standing with his sign. I just have to be strong and know that I am doing this for him to be a better person.
