So he was a career criminal. sounds to me like it was bound to happen at some point. It's not like this was his first offense. I am sure the family will now sue the county and the officer. God this makes me sick!

I thought he stole a truck and implied he had a weapon?

Now that I know he just stole a cookie out of a cookie jar, maybe he didn't deserve it. You should have made this correction sooner. Nobody would have found his shooting justified if they had known it was just a cookie.

Three 2nd degree burglaries is not petty theft... guess the arson charge is nothing as well. 4th degree burglary is still not close to petty theft - but a thief is a thief.

A cookie is not a truck, plus if he was not trying to act like thug-nasty acting like he had a "9" he would have gotten shot now would he?

Burglary is not "petty theft."

Fleeing from the police is not "petty theft."

Second degree assault is not "petty theft" and he was still on probation from that one, and even had a warrant out for his arrest.

Maybe the warrant is why he didn't give up? He probably made the choice to die rather than go back to jail.
