Waldorf bypass workshop tonight

Tonight at Mattawoman Middle School on MD228 and Middleton Rd., the SHA is going to have a workshop taking suggestions and discussing options for the Waldorf Bypass. It runs from 5:30pm-8:00pm EST.

I think it's stupid myself. Accokeek Rd. (373) is the only road I use if I have to go to PGC anyways. I don't like the idea of running through the Mattawoman Creek or Zekiah Swamp myself.

Overpasses at a few intersections would eliminate all my problems, but that would take the SHA years to complete and would cause even bigger traffic problems/delays.

Do you have a link for any of this? I hadn't heard about a Waldorf bypass in years.

Look how long it took them to complete the Hughesville bypass - from discussion to finished product.

No one at our station knew about the meeting at Gwynn Park on Tuesday night, just got off the phone with our chief, and he said he has been calling the State Highway Administration numerous times to see when they would be able to maybe come out to the station and discuss what their intentions are. Well I will definately be there tonight, taking notes, since this bypass will cut through the majority of our first due area. Anyone else going?

Me and my MPD, Digger, are gonna be there since it runs through parts of Accokeek.

I'll be there tonight, I was at the last workshop and it was very informative. Others in the area said they have seen and heard all this before, with no action. I guess I'm just a little more optimistic, because the traffic in and around Waldorf has got be be improved.

FYI: If you sign up to be on their list, they will send you updates on the 301 improvement. They sent me a post card about this workshop about a month ago...

Empty promises - that's the SHA. They've been about this bypass ever since Digger moved to Maryland.

These meetings/discussions have been going on for 20 or more years. I'll believe something will be done only when I see it actually begin. Andy might be retired by the time anything is done.
