I've used Lithium Hypochlorite for years in my hot tub and pool. Never had a clouding problem like I did with regular Chlorine products, and it smells better than Bromine.

The pool stores are happy to get you through the door. They figure once you're in there getting your water tested for free, you'll be buying chemicals from them, pool floats, and everything else they sell. Hey, it worked for them the last time we went in.
