The are indoor and outdoor cats and have been for 20 years, she's lived in her townhosue for 20 years. they have never caused any type of problem for anyone until now. A person near her called animal control because one of the cats went to the bathroom in thier flowers. My mom knows everyone around her so she thinks its the new people that just moved in next door.

So because of this she feels that she can't have the cats anymore and is very upset/depressed over it. They are all that she has there since I have moved out of state and my sister is not nearby. I am very upset over it and would like to get this resolved so that she doesn't have to get rid of the cats. I would take a cat but I am not allowed to have pets in the house i'm renting right now. and my sister already has a zoo of pets. If anyone could help with any information at all I would greatly appreciate it. if you have any questions let me know, I have to leave for the good job now so I hope I covered everything. Have a great day!!

Sounds like it was almost a good enough excuse to get rid of the cats. You might wanna' work on it though. I think she can come up with something better. Maybe allergies.

Why can't her cats just stay inside?

You can try to get rid of the leash law, but you will have no luck. It is not a stupid law, what is stupid is thinking that you have a right to let a non-native species roam around and kill native species.

And why shouldn't there be leash laws for cats? Is cat#### less offensive then dog####?

I've never seen dogprints on my car, but have had cat prints on my cars dozens of times..

That and I like the wildlife around my house.. birds.. rabbits.. snakes.. turtles.. Keep your cat indoors or on a leash.

I think there should be a bounty for catskins.

Your stupid law was made to keep people like your mother from letting her animals become a neighborhood nuisance, so you'll get no sympathy from me. I hate my neighbors cats. They think they own my yard, my deck, my cars, my gardens, bird feeders, etc. After chasing them off, my neighbors should thank me for letting them get back home.

Animals are required to be under control while outside. If it's not trained to respond to voice commands, that means a leash.

.. and yes, your cat is an animal even though somebody convinced you that you adopted it.
