Hollywood north to county line with Charles, or south of Lexington Pk or Calvert up to about St. Leonard, except you sometimes have bridge problems at Solomon's. Heck almost anywhere in St. Marys except around Lex. Park..

You are in for a shock! There is no city close. Although Lex Park has been growing, we are still very rural unless you can tolerate the monopoly businesses (ie. walmart, best buy, lowes, etc.).

The south side (out of city limits) is an area to consider if you are looking to buy. It's easy commute to Pax and the prices are much more reasonable than other rural city areas. But regardless, bring a big purse, cause housing market here is rather high. I heard from many that the Wildwood area is good for a condo or town house, if that is what you are seeking... you prolly want to stay away from patuxent homes or great mills road area... otherwise, the best thing to do is to get a local seasoned realtor and let them help you...

of course, if your husband is military and plan to live in the housing, that's another story...

oh! and one last thing... if you plan to live close to the base, bring ear plugs... low flying F-18's in the living room isn't what I consider the sound of freedom... more like ear piercing country annhilation... .lol.

Charles County Best

1. Nanjemoy (lot of land, no traffic really)
2. Benedict (small town, has post office and fire house within walking distance to your house)
3. Newburg/Cobb Island (heard its peaceful down there)

Charles County Worst

1. Waldorf (do I really have to get into this one)
2. La Plata (turning into Waldorf)
3. Welcome (who came up with this name, Welcome Maryland)
