Exclamation Crappy Gas

Has anyone else had a problem with gas they got a the Sheetz in California. I got gas there Monday morning and yesterday coming home my car started acting funny. "She" was spittin' and sputterin'...... I have had an issue with getting bad gas there before and the car did the same thing. I filled my car up with gas from another station and now it acts fine. (up until we get low again or it works thru the bad gas - which ever comes first.)

There was a thread about this about 3 or 4 months ago. I've purposely avoided gas from there since then.

My mom got gas at Sheetz right about the time the other thread came out and her car wouldn't actually start for a while there, it would just spit and sputter.

I had some problems years ago from that same station... it sputtered and stalled from time to time until I ran the gas down and filled back up, but it never happened afterwards, so I guess they just get water in the trucks from time to time by mistake

I usually stay away from that place but I was playing the "Gas Lottery" that morning and didn't think I would make it to Wa-Wa.

Just throwing out suggestions, never fill up at a gas station that is receiving gas from a tanker truck because it stirs the tanks sediment and into your car it goes.

Next, buy some octane boost and fuel system cleaner and drive your car a little hard to hopefully burn off the contaminants...

It would be my luck.... I give her some octane boost and fuel system cleaner and then drive her hard. She will die on me and leave me on the side of the road in the heat!!

You are so right about filling up when they are receiving gas.... Thats a big no-no

Gas trivia I heard on foxnews one morning... don't run the nozzle at full blast when filling tank... you increase the air in the flow. Fill up in the morning... gas expands as temps increase thuse you'll be paying more for less.

I got diesel fuel 2 different times at the Texeco station by gate 1 and both times the water in fule light came on in my truck. Needless to say I don't get fuel from there anymore.

If the condition of their pumps is any indicator of the gas quality, they've got some real work to do before I start buying from them again. Every time, there are pumps out of order, or the card reader won't read my card, or the reciept won't print.

I like to support them, since they are based in my family's home town of Altoona, but they need to get their act together on those gas pumps.
