Smokin Joe on 97.7

I think he is the best DJ the station has ever had as far as song selections go. The music gets me going in the morning.

Mojo was decent, I was sorry to see him go. Especially when they brought in that train wreck, Ripley. But I think Joe has been the best so far; he does more music than talk, and he has yet to annoy me when he is talking.

A little too much of the 80s hair bands for my taste, but other than that his music selection is far better than previous DJs.

Ugh, I'd be happy if I lived the rest of my life without hearing another song from an 80s hair band!

I do listen to 97.7 more often than I used to because of the new DJ though (well that and my satellite radio has been turned off).

I miss the Moj'.

Smokin Joe is definitely pretty good though. My only complaint is that he doesn't have much variety in his show. You get about 5 or 6 updates from the "Stupid News", and other than that, he doesn't really say much. I don't mind the 80's hair bands so much, but there's a little too much older stuff like Foghat or Rush and guys like that for my taste. I like that kind of music and all, but I have to be in the mood for it.

I like when they play good newer stuff like Finger 11 or Velvet Revolver.


I also like when a diamond in the rough pops out, like some surprise Iron Maiden, or WASP.





And I'm not totally sure - but I think I caught friggin' Lizzy Borden yesterday. There's something you don't hear on the radio much these days.

No you don't gotta love the hair bands!

I prefer heavy metal. What I like to hear on 97.7 is the classic metal and some of the modern rock.

I like bands such as As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, Chimaira, Unearth, Demon Hunter, Hatebreed, Pantera, Metallica, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Sepultura, SoulFly, and Cavalera Conspiracy.
