Rte 4 Accident at Waste Management? I don't know if it's been mentioned, but around 3:30pm, I was travelling north on Rte 4, when I came across an apparent head-on collision involving a truck and a silver convertible, at the entrance to the waste management facility. Looked as though one of the vehicles might have attempted a left turn into the landfill/dump, when the other vehicle, heading south, slammed into it. Police and Emergency vehicles all over the place. Not sure if I have it all down correctly, but both vehicles were pretty banged up.

It was pretty bad. Hubby and I were coming north, must have just happened, we were a few cars back and saw the helicopter sitting in the middle of the road, when we finally went past the scene, it looked like both vehicles were taken apart from extrication. Hope everyone makes it.

Ya know, its funny, they spend so much time playing catch the speeder over there, but I'll bet +%90 of the major accidents on Rt 4 are simple failure to yields, where speed isnt really a factor. Either make real crossings, or spend some quailty time near crossings catching and citing folks who fail to yield but dont cause an accident. Running radar wont stop trucks from pulling out, or idiots from not seeing them when they do.

I would also wager, there's going to be some more of this type of mishap, with that new intersection that the state/county is installing on Rte 4. It's a about a mile and a half north of the Solomons firehouse, accessing a new business park?

Speed enforcement isn't about safety, it's about revenue

| I only partly agree with you on that. There is most certainly a safety aspect to enforcing speed laws.
