Metrocast High Definition Problem

Hi guys,
Does anyone have any problems with their Metrocast HD? I seem to only be getting half of my channels in HD while the rest are broadcasting in Standard Definition. My NFL Network and ESPNs both have sidebars now as well.

Is anyone else having problems?

I have had that problem in the past. What you need to do is call them and get them to zap your box. You could also up-plug it for about 5 mins. and then plug it back in so that the box can reset.

DirecTV does that too, The program(NFL Channel) is in Hi-Def, but it's cropped. However, when they broadcast a game, it is in widescreen.....

A couple of weeks ago, I had a technician out at my place to fix some reception problems. Apparently, the dish got hit by lightning! New LNB and wiring into the house, and it's all good.

I can definitely tell it is in standard def though. NFL Total Access always used to be broadcast in full screen and now it never is. Is your Total Access cropped?

Yes, it is, but only during news casts. A taped or live game is in widescreen.

It never used to be though. My NFL Total Access was never cropped. Is yours in HD even when cropped? Mine isn't. It is standard def. Same as ESPND. That is standard def and cropped as well.

Yes, when the more recent games are broadcast, they are in HD, and no cropping.

The older games, well I assume they weren't taped in HD so that's not possible for viewing purposes.

But when they switch to a commentary, about the game being aired, that is in HD, but cropped.

Now, most games, in the last few years WERE taped in HD, and when they air them, they're broadcast in the widescreen format, crystal clear! No cropping.

During regular broadcast - no game being aired, the program is cropped alright, but it's in HD.

Does that make sense?
