My wii number is 6262 5467 2292 2313

There ain't much need to keep yours private either, unless you don't want specific people knowing how to reach you in game. Mii characters can be accessed, so the only real "harm" in it is if you named your mii your real name. Or your credit card number.

Its my Wii Number (as opposed to your Friends Number). Basically it allows all forms of communication to come through as opposed to just playing games. Not that I expect any pics, emails, messages, voice comms, etc from you, but its nice to give people you are good friends with and are far away from.

The friends number is a 12 digit 3x4 string.

So where do we put the number you gave us. When you register a friend doesn't it only let you put in the 12 numbers?

First thing you'll need is your Wii-number. This is a 16 digit code hardwired to your console. To get it open the message box (lower right), then open the notes menu (second icon on the lower left), and finally enter your address book (rightmost icon).
You should now see your own Wii-number.

To add a friend you must obtain their Wii-number and use the Register button on the lower right of the address book. Select the Wii icon and enter the code, and then add a nickname for your friend.
