French door leaking - who to call?

We have a bump out in our kitchen that has a three panel french door, so only the middle panel opens. Since it's a bump out, it's right to the edge of the house. The door is leaking A LOT when it rains hard, and it's coming in at both sides of the middle panel at the floor level. The gutters are clean, we've (OK, DH) put on new weather stripping and caulked and it's still leaking. It's ruined the three hardwood boards nearest the door, so I'm concerned about the subfloor as well.

My questions are:
1. What type of company do I call to come out and find and fix the leak (door company, contractor, etc)?
2. Any recommendations for said company?

TYIA!

There is:

1. A-1 General Contractors 301-373-8192

2. A&M Glass 301-994-2740

3. Clark Remodeling 301-373-5463

4. G.H. Clark Jr. Contractors 1-800-791-1618

4. Southern Maryland Windows and Siding 301-855-9410

I got all these from our local red phone book. Hopefully one of them will be able to help! Good luck!

I have had A&M Glass come out and give me an estimate. They acted like it was a pain in their azz to be there. Other than that, no. I think G.H. sounds promising they are the only ones with a huge full color ad in the book. Worth a shot.

I agree that you want some recommendations on who to go to as anyone could come out and tell you they can fix it and do more harm than good. Certainly ask for references or examples of similar jobs they have done. You will want someone who can fix the door but also the floor if need be, so be certain they have experience in both. Sounds like you know all this, though, so best wishes, sorry I don't have any referals for you.

Is this a new house? Who installed the doors? If it is a new home, you might have a warranty. Same if a company installed them. If neither of those, then I agree with everyone else. Get several estimates!

The house is less than 5 years old, and the previous owner built it himself, so I'm assuming he installed the door/windows himself. But it's something I hadn't thought of and I'll check out just to make sure. Thanks!
