Yup Child Support What a Joke

It is really hard to get the child support stopped also - We have had my stepdaugther since January and the mother thinks she should still be getting child support for the her and she longer has her. WHAT A MESS!! The laws are not there to help anyone. We had to wait for the mother to send a letter to stop child support and we are still fighting the system, and we keep getting more and more run around from everyone in child support

Wrong. It's figured so that each parent is responsible for a % of the childs preceived expenses per month. If the child costs $1K a month and dad brings in 60% of the income and mom 40% than the total obligation per month is $600/$400. If child lives with mom, than dad pays $600 a month and mom certainly can't pay herself. If dad has another baby with someone else and they split his income is figured deducting that $600 a month but if mom does the same thing she does not get to decrease her income by $400 a month.

You are custodial for both children, correct? Therefore you *receive* two sources of child support.

He has another child, and is *paying* two supports.

It makes perfect sense to me.
I am glad it does to you! However, what the other father pays has NOTHING to do with it. The mother has the same obligation to the child as the father. In both cases. If her contribution to her other child is is not to be included, WHY would his contribution to his other child?

My point. Thank you for clarifying that!

My suggestion - be thankful you are getting the fathers support money and stop complaining.

Sweet, that's the #### I'm talking about. I think you should have Pixie and Sock help as a team effort to fix your resume then you can a better job to support your rug rats and not trying to place blame and expense on someone else or the system.

Not to mention making your kids an object so you can go after every penny you can

Child support is based on the income of each parent, NOT how much they think the child costs.

Maryland Child Support Calculator - AllLaw.com

They deduct your expenses (including child support you *pay*) and total your income (including child support you *receive*) and figure it from there.
