cost of propane and company recommendation

Do you know the current price per gallon of propane delivered? The company we have been dealing with seems to be expensive and put out because we use only 160 gallons yearly. Which propane delivery company do you recommend? We are in Charles County.
Thanks for your response.

I live in St. Mary's and I have Southern Maryland Oil fill the tanks. In fact I just had them filled yesterday when my tanks ran out - they were very fast with the fuel delivery. I called them a week or two ago, and they quoted me 3.199 a gallon of propane.

United Propane quoted me $4.88 this week. I told them to yank the tank.

Now, the question: If we buy, say a 40 gallon tank, where can we take it to get it filled and what is the going price out in the real world?

Lowes sells 100Lbs tanks (25 gal. capacity) for approx $100

I usually fill my 100lbs.propane tanks at
Three Mules, Leonardtown Burchmart, 3rd Base
I usually call in advance and see who is the cheapest per gal.

Thanks! Seems the way to go. United Propane charges $65/yr to rent the tank.

price of propane

United seems to quote a high price for everyone. We refused delivery at 4.85 and asked them to match price quoted by suburban. You will need to ask to speak to the manager. We ended up paying $3.10. We pay $65. yearly rental for 2 tanks.
