| Great Mills High School Athletics In my opinion the GMHS Varsity lost its pride in football when they removed the G from the helmet. When will we get great football games back at GM? GM football haven't been contenders since my class graduated in 97. That's a long time. I remember us winning 6 home games before they tore up the old field. It use to be where the parking lot is now. I also remember Coach Hoop and his brother Joey. Some of the best coaches ever in SMAC. Coach Hoop use to always tell us "Take it to the House". We as a community need to get football back to St. Mary's and play some smash mouth football. |

There are several teams at GMHS that are doing very well. I think their soccer teams are pretty stout, their Field Hockey team did well this year, and their girls basketball team went to States last year. It ain't ALWAYS about football.

| The problem is they tons of talent walking around that school but thet aren't eligible. I went to college and worked with coach and puts alot of energy and knowledge into that program with what he has that meets grades

| This is true. But what can we as a community do to help these kids get better grades? Do we blame the parents or do we blame the students? |

I didn't get my mojo back until years later and I entered the miltary and started working out every day...... It is possible that GMHS is a lousy football team becasue the "G" is gone..... Don't you think?

In my opinion I think the G was the heart and soul of GM. I use to love putting on that uniform. Made me feel like I was playing for the Green Bay Packers. It stood for something. | |
