NASCAR store closes will NASCAR be next?

For 14 years, race fans have flocked to Victory Lane Racing, the region's last independently owned NASCAR-themed store.

Those customers have been greeted by brightly colored, collectible die-cast cars, stacked six deep on tables, floor-to-ceiling on shelves and covering nearly every square inch of wall space.

But that will end in January, when the store closes, a victim of the sluggish national economy and an uncertain future.

U.S auto makers claim they're on the brink and are pleading for help from the govt yet they seem to have millions to pump into things like NASCAR.

Do you know what it means when someone says there is a contract? If they break the contract they can lose more money that the contract was worth. If you watch you'll see many not renewing contracts as they expire. They can't just pull out like that.

No but you did suggest they are not withdrawing from NASCAR and still pumping the money to them. It'll be strange when Toyota is the only car that can be fielded.

NASCAR revenue is around 84 mil per team falls second to the NFL so I think they do their fair share for our economy.

Not saying that NASCAR doesn't help the economy. I'm just wondering what kind of return on investment do the U.S. automakers see from NASCAR? If it helps, then maybe they should pump MORE into NASCAR. Perhaps give GM a $30billion loan versus $25billion.
