I hope it's quiet tonight. It was fairly quiet last night, other than the trailer fires in Leonardtown.

I figure to police will get hit hard tonight. That wind will have every driver on the road weaving out of his/her lanes. Cops will be pulling cars over left & right

That's always funny. I was coming home from work and the wind caught the back end of my truck, I was doing 75 before I realized it.

1. On their cell phones

2. Shaving while driving

3. Doing Hair or Nails

4. Crappy situational awareness (see 1,2 & 3)

Yep, It surprised me a few times yesterday. After it got me the first time I realized it was going to be one of those days were both hands on the wheel at all times was a given.

As an ambulance driver in St. Mary's, I too can say that most people would not believe how people can continue driving in front of the ambulance, or even pull out in front of it, as if completely oblivious to the lights, 2 sirens, and airhorns that I use at all interrsections, or if I see someone at the end of their driveway that appears they are going to pull out. About 4 months ago, I had to pick up a young woman after she was involved in an MVA, and her boyfriend rode along with me, in the front of the ambulance, after seeing what we have to deal with while driving in emergency mode, he could'nt believe it.

I volunteer w/my local rescue squad, when not in the back; I drive a beautiful 2008 Excellance-it has all the bells and whistles. I try not to use the airhorn but some folks are either deaf or just plan ignorant.

There have been times while driving emergent, I have had to contact dispatch to get LEO’s to run interference.
