Surround sound ???

Quick question I just got this av suroound reciver and I can seem to get any sound from it, do you have to have the optical cables hooked up for it to work?

No, but there is a forum for this kind of stuff.

Should just have speaker wire inputs, and then you should be able to select pro logic on the reciever to get it to play. What are you using to connect the player to your reciever? RCA cables?

you either have to have all of your components(dvd, sat or cable receiver, blu ray and gaming console) plugged into your tv and have a cable from the output of the tv to the input of your surround sound receiver OR have all of your components plugged into the inputs of the surround sound with a cable going from the output of the surround sound and into an input on your tv.... sorry if that's too confusing

You'll need to connect speakers to the speaker wire OUTputs and various inputs from such things as a DVD player or your TV.

Plug it in to the AC power and you're good to go

Right, it just seems so self explainatory though. Should be outputs that are designated for the surround speakers and then the components should all be labled too...... I don't know.... guess he figured it out.

Okay, if you still need help, give us some component and model numbers, from there, we can find pics of the back panels and help you sort it out.

AS for the fiber, that depends. Some pieces require a specific actio on your pert to tell the component to output audio over the fiber.
