Take it up with the civil engineers.

Was it...

It makes perfect sense to me too. There is a solid white line for a few feet leading into S 235 from CRR. That lane in fact starts at that point.

!!!

But... I try to make it a point not to let my vehicle try to occupy the same space as another vehicle at the same time. No matter what the laws, signs or lane markings indicate. Seems to be working so far. Defensive driving.

I know that...and still think it's stupid
If there wasn't a business there, ok, sure...that makes sense...but there is, so something needs to be changed IMO. It needs to be like the Wawa at 235/4, which people also suck at. But at least I THINK it has a yield sign...

I knew because I learned to drive in another state. I think the MD driver's handbook is too vague. It's not wonder people drive the way they do here.

I couldn't even find anything definitive on the Federal Hwy Administration site.

It doesn't matter if there's a yield sign. Once you've established occupancy of a lane, you have the right of way in that lane. In other words, if you're still in the turn, you must yield. Once you've left the "curve", you have established occupancy.

Never assume the other guy knows what he's doing. Works for me, too. That said, if someone hits me when I have the right of way, I won't pat them on the back and say "it's okay".
