Speaking of hard crabs:

Do any restaurants have them? Or do I have to wait for warmer weather?

Not sure about the crab season thing, if you can actually get them year round or not.

You can get them but they're not local crabs. I don't think they taste as good but some people can't tell the difference.

Don't think I've seen them after November.

I was very disappointed last weekend when I couldn't find any softshell clams (manoes). What happened to them?

I went to Seabreeze on Friday night and they had them. I didn't get them but they looked good.

Speaking of crabs, weren't they thinking of changing the recreational guidelines this year? Do I have to get a license to crab off of my pier this year? I searched but couldn't find anything. Anyone know if they are actually implementing that crap this year?

The last that I heard on the topic - Everyone who pursues Blue Crabs, recreational or otherwise, is required to have a license now. They were also changing the catch limits and size limit changes on females too.

Does this mean us pier crabbers are going to have to have a license posted on the end of our pier like those stupid building permits? Or are they going to see the live wells and come knocking on your door to see the paper? So stupid.

There are very few watermen around SOMD that actually go claming anymore. The last one that I knew died last year.
