Metrocast problem

I live in the Chingville area, I have digital cable from Metrocast, with one of their boxes on my tv's, in case any of that makes a difference. Tuesday night we were watching TV Land, I think around 9 p.m., and the show was interrupted, and programming from Channel 10 came on, with something from O'Brien Realty, and it stayed on for about 2-3 minutes. While it was on, I seemed to be "locked out" from my cable. Couldn't change the channel, or even adjust the volume from the cable box. This is the second time this has happened, and both times, it was the same show on channel 10. Has anyone else experienced this, or know what causes it, or how to stop it? Thanks.

Probably Metrocast messing with stuff.
On a side, and unrelated note, my Metrocast connection last week was getting the crappiest speed I've had since dialup. I was dropping two packets everytime I would ping anything. Anyway, long story short, I went to their tech support and my speed miracously went back to normal. Amazing, huh?

I'm in the Chingville area and have had nary a problem with Metrocast since I was hooked up a couple of years ago. Granted, the line was new when they ran it across the area of my abode.

Have you contacted them and asked them to investigate the problem?

No, I haven't. I had to leave the next morning on business, and just got home tonight, I am planning to call them in the morning though.

They were testing the EAS (Emergency Alert System). It's a requirement of the FCC that it be tested on a regular basis.
