To the woman jogging down Catalina Dr this morning

Thanks so much for your kind act, while jogging this morning! When my puppy broke lose from me when I was putting him in his play yard this a.m., he ran up our driveway to say hello to the lady running down the street. You continued running, while having no concern that I was running behind you trying to catch our puppy, who decided maybe a jog would be fun! Instead, you kept running, with him by your side! Instead of stopping, to allow me to catch up to you, and retrieve him, you allowed me to run behind you, before I had to go running back to my house, to get my car keys and shoes, only to find you still running blocks away, allowing him to run in front of vehicles! My fault he got lose, yes, but your complete disregard for the possibility of him being hit by a car, and having him follow you, even after I begged you to stop, just amazed me!! (and probably all the other cars, who were trying to avoid hitting him!)

Hope your neighbors treat you, the way you treated me this morning! I struggled all day, with how someone could be so cruel! Hope you are never in need of anyone's assistance, and make sure you don't twist your ankle in front of my house!

That is real unfortunate. I am sure she a had a good ole time giggling to herself saying "not my problem" ..God forbid she would stop and "break her rythm" to assist you. Thats ok though, she'll get hers one day.

Many people jog with an iPod, so it's possible she didn't even know the dog was there, or that you were trying to get him.

train the pup to pull the pants off of joggers without breaking skin - just like in the coppertone ads

Agree...Also maybe it was hard for her to know if your dog was nice or chasing her. I've gone on walks/runs where neighborhood dogs have tried chasing or even nipping at me. I actually started running with a stick (just in-case).

Just playing both sides.

I'm glad you got your baby back tho.

Sorry to hear this happened. One of my mom's dogs jumped over her and out of their RV once while parked in a hotel parking lot. The dog ran and ran with us chasing behind. The dog went to the front door of a store, and people saw us chasing. We had to yell "GET THE DOG" before they realized to maybe grab the collar.

I guess not everyone is used to dogs...but I sure as hell would grab a dog if I saw someone running after it.

How safe is jogging with an iPod? I know on base, although it is often ignored, by military instruction it is illegal. I see your point about not being able to hear but if she can't hear someone calling a dog then how will she hear the sirens we had such a to do about? I believe I was told that only stupid people would not hear a siren and get out of the road!

The lady jogging wasn't on base.

Nope, she knew! I even yelled to her, sorry, my puppy is coming behind you, he won't bite you! He was circling her all the way down the road, while I ran behind her yelling for him to stop. When I finally ran all the way back to my house to get my keys and car, realizing she wasn't going to slow down to let me catch up to get him, I found her several blocks down the road, puppy still circling her, and stopping traffic. I had to put my head out my car window, and yell between the vehicles that did stop, to make sure they didn't hit him, and yell "lady would you please just stop so I can just get my puppy!" And she turned and yelled back, its not my FAULT! We were now at least 6 blocks from my home, and as soon as I opened my car door, the puppy jumped in my car.

I cried all the way home, through my morning shower, and all the way to work! Just couldn't believe someone would care more about their stride, than the safety of a puppy, or the person, frantically trying to get him to safety!
