Unhappy Does anyone know about the death of a student at SMS?

So, so sad. Just tragic. They are so young.

He was an 8th grade student at Southern Middle School. He died yesterday (Tues). Does anyone know the cause? They haven't told the students what he died of. Rumor is suicide.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the truth is.

Thanks for the clarification. For a minute I thought you were talking about St. Michael's School in Ridge.

My son is in the 7th grade at SMS. He said the 1st period teachers read a letter advising them that the student passed away but gave no other details.

All I have is a third hand report. My niece was a classmate of his for several years and she heard he died of strangulation, possible suicide, possible accident. All horrible.

Pray for his family and friends.

Thanks for the replies.

My son is a student there also. I got the same handout yesterday.

As of yesterday they just said that he had died. I am wondering when they will tell them something more.

So, so, so sad.

More hearsay stuff. Rumor has it that he was asthmatic. He also had a penchant for wearing some manner of stiff studded collar. His parents left him home alone (hey, he's thirteen) when his sister suffered a ruptured appendix and they rushed her to the hospital.

While they were gone he had an asthma attack and his collar got hooked on something while he tried to remove it. He didn't make it to his inhaler in time.

Again this is all just rumor. Came to me third hand from my sister in law who spoke to his best friend. My niece was pretty bothered by this and didn't go to school today.

Sad news.

Awww. C'mon Archie! You mean to tell me you didn't do any silly/dumb stuff like wear a tough guy collar when you were 13? Give the poor kid a break.
