| Patuxent Playhouse OPEN AUDITIONS “A Christmas Story” The Patuxent Playhouse nonprofit community theater group will be holding open auditions for our next production, “A Christmas Story” Performances are scheduled for November 6-7 & 14-15 at St John Vianney Family Life Center in Prince Frederick. The show will be Directed by Mrs. Diane Bramos. ABOUT “A Christmas Story” Set during a snowy Christmas season in 1940’s Indiana, nine-year-old Ralphie longs for the ideal Christmas gift, a 200-Shot, Range-Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.” But when gruff dad and doting mom, and even a stressed-out Santa quote the usual BB gun warning, “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Ralphie mounts a full-scale, hint dropping campaign that is a sly combination of innocence and calculation. Will anyone hear his pleas or will they all be mesmerized by his Old Man’s “Major Award”? You’ve seen the movie, now see this holiday classic live on stage! AVAILABLE ROLES: Ralph as an adult A Storyteller (Adult Male) Ralphie Parker Ralph as a boy (Boy - age 10-13) The Old Man Ralphie’s Father (Adult Male) Mother Ralphie’s Mother (Adult Female) Randy Ralphie’s Brother (Boy - age 8-10) Miss Shields His Teacher (Adult Female) Flick His friend and classmate (Boy - age 10-13) Schwartz Another friend and classmate (Boy - age 10-13) Esther Jane Alberry A classmate (Girl - age 10-13) Helen Weathers A classmate (Girl - age 10-13) Scut Farkus A Bully (Boy - age 13-16) **Additional roles for ages 8 to adult will also be available** AUDITION DATES, TIMES & VENUES: Monday, August 24 at St John Vianney Family Life Center in Prince Frederick from 7pm – 9:30pm Wednesday, August 26 at the Southern Community Center in Lusby from 7pm – 9:30pm IF YOU PLAN TO AUDITION: Please prepare a monologue to read for your audition. If you do not have a monologue prepared, one will be provided for you to read. Please bring a recent head shot and resume if you have one. | I wish they had some little 'fill in' type roles for little kids (5-ish) - my daughter would love to be in something like that! don't they need any 'kids waiting in line for Santa' or something?? LOL ![]() Hope they find someone who fits the personality for the father... seems like a few around here |
