Question Block Ice in Waldorf Area?

Hello,

Let me introduce myself. I have been lurking here for a couple of months as I recently bought a weekend retreat in the Nanjemoy area ( I live in southeastern PA). Will be coming down this weekend to do some hunting and will (hopefully) be in need of some block ice. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase block ice in the Waldorf, La Plata, or Indian Head area? Thanks in advance.

Don't you think if he wanted a bag of ice, he would have asked? Shesh, he wants a block of ice.

That's what I figured, but just checking. Of course, as cold as it is, he could take a bucket of water and put it outside. Buckeot O' Ice the next morning.

Hadn't thought of that, I'll keep that in mind. Plan is to use the ice in an old chest freezer to keep the venison quarters cool until we get time to process the meat and I thought block ice would survive longer in that application.

Crabcake, I live in Limerick.

Yea, I know it is a little close, but since I work in Pottstown I figured there was no reason not to live in Limerick. I live far enough away that stacks do not "loom" over the house. Unfortunately, I can't blame my "drain bramage" on PECO, although some bar owners from Baton Rouge during my college days might be hearing from my attorney!!

One nice thing about using bag ice is that the ice can get into smaller areas, therefore giving a more uniform cool. How long do you plan to be down here?
