| So I was reading the story in the emptyprise....and it seems as if they are going on an accusation from a three year old...and a lie detector test. Both of which to me are highly unreliable. I hope they have evidence they aren't talking about (which is often the case) cuz thats pretty weak. And what she said he did..it just doesn't make sense..and I think could be easily misconstrued by someone listening to a 3 yo.

I know the lie detector test is unreliable - and a 3 year old is hit and miss as to whether they are telling the truth or not ![]() My brother almost got my parents investigated for child abuse when he was that age - and my father was a cop!! Both of us used to get welts from mosquito bites (we lived in the country and were outside all the time) and it looked horrible - my brother was bad about scratching his and they would get nasty looking. One day in preschool his teacher asked him about the bites and he told her that my mom had burnt him with the iron!! The teacher called my mom over when she came to pick him up and thankfully they knew our family pretty well - but the teacher had to talk to my mom about it and see if there was any merit to what he was saying. My brother got in trouble for that little blurb ![]() He was just so dramatic - he would tell people that his name was Jimmy (it wasn't... not even close) and he would sneak candy to school and sell it to kids for whatever change they had. Slickster... My point is that kids are very impressionable and imaginative - and if the mom 'planted' that information to the little girl, she would just repeat it and believe it as truth. I always hate to hear about this kind of stuff, because it is just devastating all around... if he really did this, well, he's scum and the poor little girl has a lot to overcome. If he didn't, his name is already out and people will have a bad impression of him. I guess we won't really know for months.

Haaha yeah I came home one day and told my mother that my teacher beat me and shoved me in the corner..she of course immediately went to talk to her..and discovered it just didn't happen. The worst thing about children that young is not only do they make things up..but they INTERNALIZE it as truth..they don't even realize that it couldn't be. I don't mean that the kid took cookies and then told mom she didnt..they realize that..but if they are told something..or talk about it as fact. they absolutely believe it.But you're right. it sucks all around...no matter what the outcome.

| You people on here never cease to amaze me. Why are you people on here defending a man that was charged with sexually assaulting a 3 year old? And a lot of you would be jumping to conclusions, assuming someone was guilty if it were a different story. Has it ever occurred to you that adults victimize children that they know will not know what is going on and who are too young to remember. For example, I have been dating someone for a while now, and last Christmas I went to his cousin's house for dinner(who happens to be a woman) While everyone was in the kitchen and living room, his cousin was tickling and hugging on one of his other little cousins(who was three at the time). She walked him past the kitchen and living room, out of everyone's eyesight, but I happened to glance behind me and saw this woman tickling and grabbing the little boy in his privates. Now, I did not say anything to the family, but I told my boyfriend what I saw. I did not want to say what I saw, because I did not want the whole family mad at me for making accusations. I just told my boyfriend that if we ever have children, she will never be babysitting them.Perhaps the mother walked in on him doing something extremely inappropriate and filed charges. I just love how a lot of people on here are so presuming and rude about just about everything, yet you defend someone who has been charged with this sort of crime. It makes me wonder just how intelligent a lot of you are. |

Sounds kinda like what you're doing. Interesting that it is ok to jump to the conclusion he is guilty..but not to speculate that he may not be. Anyway..Everyone on here is speculating..throwing out theories..talking about what confuses them..or what they have seen in the past..or maybe what they read in the paper..or if they knew the guy..or the family..or what. Its a discussion board..so I'm not sure why people are so shocked when they see people discussing things. I don't know if he did it or not..neither do you. No group of people would rather see this guy hanged if he were guilty..than those on here. Its pretty clear you didnt read the whole thread..try that. also on a side note..It is interesting you would blast how terrible people here chatting are..and how easy they are on predators..and yet you personally saw what you thought was heinous sexual abuse or as you say "victimizing a child" ..and didn't do a damn thing about it. because you were scared the fam wouldn't like you. Thats pretty sick. ....yet you feel ok with yourself enough to come on here and talk about people. ![]()

Exactly my thoughts when I read this. How can anyone with such high morals NOT mention this to the child's parent???? What did the bf do???? If he did nothing then I'm sorry I kind of wonder if he isn't a scum bag too...You were afraid of what the family would think????? Seriously????? You're just as guilty IMO. I admit that I am one of those people that may "jump to conclusions" when it comes to child abuse. I cannot help it and I feel absolutely heart broken when I read or hear stories about this stuff. I know that in some cases kids do make things up but they are usually older NOT 3. Also, police and other law officials are trained to look for signs and listen to key phrases. I find it hard to believe that this guy was charged solely on the word of the 3 yo. I don't EVER think anyone should 2nd guess what a child says when it comes to abuse.
