SOLVFD Aggressive Driving

This afternoon my wife arrived home from shopping all pissed off that someone almost ran her off the road on Rt 4 south. She described the incident typical of what u would imagine an aggressive driver would do. The guy tailgates to the extent u cant see the headlights then swerves around and surgically inserts himself in front of u while almost rear ending the car in the other lane. All this occurring during heavy rain made it all the more hazardous but what really set my wife off was that the tag has Solomon’s VFD on it. Having been a Vol herself my wife found this to be particularly offensive and if anyone reading this is a member I would ask that you pass this on throughout the department that actions on and off duty reflect on the integrity and image of your department.

High EGT has PM'ed me and I assured him that I will be checking into this.

Get the tag #, make and model and call the police.

That's one of the bennies of being in the VFD. Nothing will happen. That license tag gives them a pass.

That depends on how strict the Chief or President wants to be. He will proably get a verbal warning from them and warned if they get anymore complaints they will start the paperwork to get his organizatinal tags pulled by MVA.

I'm tired of aggressive, a-hole drivers that put others at risk. Also DUI drivers. Just got an Xmas letter today from a friend who stated that her dad and Grandfather were in a car accident earlier in the year. Someone ripped into their car who was under the influence. Her dad survived, but the 93 year old grandfather did not. He passed away on her bday.
When I see jerks weaving in-between traffic, or driving ultra fast - especially when the road conditions are wet, it makes me very concerned about safety of myself and loved ones on the road. I did notice a boatload of police patrolling today on the roads and pulling over speeders. It helps to have a patrol presence out there.

Let me respond by saying Only and I repeat Only a minority of individuals act badly within any department but unfortunatly its these individuals people tend to profile as representing a whole department. The same can be said when we see police officers acting badly which ultimatly gives all cops a bad name.
