Comcast: Pixelating Issues!

Well, supposedly, that's what it is called when the tv picture starts looking like a jigsaw puzzle. Also, the sound gets messed up.

We've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. Comcast does not like to admit to problems that they're having. They seem to want you to think that you are the only one. We were in a waiting room with a tv recently, and the same thing was happening there.

Anybody else having problems with their tv picture/sound?

You are not alone! We have had the same issue on and off over the years... It is not just recent. And yes they do shun the responsibility yet they continue to charge the same rates for the less than quality service!

Pixilation is due to the MPEG compression algorithms, and not enough data. You either are getting a degraded feed or there are line/connector issues somewhere. Like was said, check all the connectors from one end to the other. If you have a splitter inline somewhere, remove it temporarily. Bypass the existing cables in the walls and run a wire directly from the side of the house to the cable box. That will tell you if it's inside or outside.

Still can't figure it out. It is interesting to note that the problem usually doesn't occur much during commercials. I wonder why that is.

I'm praying to merciful heavens that Cox cable comes to Southern Maryland.

Just the idea will scare the crap out of Comcast.

Same thing has happened to my cable in the past couple of weeks, and a friend of my wife who also lives in Calvert County is having the same thing. Its probably on Comcast's end.
