Hurricane Earl prompts early delivery of Social Security checks
Hurricane Earl is prompting the U.S. Postal Service to deliver monthly Social Security benefits checks a bit earlier.

Letter carriers will deliver the checks early to locations in the Mid-Atlantic, specifically coastal areas of North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and New York. Some checks will arrive in the mail today, while others should arrive on Thursday.

The Treasury Department will inform banks of the early deliveries, USPS said. The Social Security Administration also plans to raise the limit on third-party draft payments to help with the immediate payment processing
