Ive been to Skydive Orange. Even though we never got to jump (weather) I wasnt too impressed with the facility and drop zone and was glad we didnt jump. The landing area isnt that big and the margine for error is high.

We re-booked at West Point a few weeks later.... Hands down the best choice between the 2.

I've heard good things about Skydive Orange, so I thought I might try it out there. Some friends have told me that the one in Ocean City is pretty good...but that's pretty far just to go skydiving.

Thanks for the responses everyone! :)

I am so ready to do this. Is anyone familiar with this place?

DC Skydiving Center :: Price and Times

Orange sounds good but the Skydiving Center is a bit cheaper. (Not that I would necessarily go cheap on something like skydiving if safety is an issue.)

First jump I landed right on the big X - courtesy of the on-ground instructor telling me which way to turn, flare, etc.

Levels 3 through 7, with increasing altitudes of free fall, and decreasing levels of pull, were with one instructor and more proficiency drills, after which, upon passing, you were deemed qualified for free fall, without instruction.

At level 4, i had a partial malfunction: the pilot chute was deployed, but could not catch enough air to pull the main chute. I rolled right - left, per instruction, and the instructor was about to signal me to cut away to my back-up/reserve chute when the main finally deployed.

What a physical rush!

The license was/is nice.

My wife is a different story.

But I have no doubt what a parachute does for one.

Freefall - the most fun one can have with their clothes on.

I am still alive.

I urge all to go for it.

Not gonna happen, you don't jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

Absolutely right. A real person would just step or fall out of a perfectly good airplane, willingly.

Gravity and actuary tables do the rest. The vast % of people that leave airplanes with parachutes on their backs live and enjoy it immensely.

Far safer than just flying in an airplane. The most dangerous part of a skydive is the plane ride up to jump altitude.
