Question about registering my vehicle in Maryland

So I made the plunge and am working on week 2 in beautiful Southern Maryland. It is, ummmm, unique to say the least lol. I'm in the process of getting everything switched over from Florida (license, tags, inspection, etc). So after bending over and taking it from the inspection folks to the tune of $60 lol I was reading about what it's going to cost me to get Maryland tags. Now I purchased my brand new car in April of 2011 in Gainesville Florida to the tune of a 6.25% sales tax rate. If I am reading Maryland's website correctly it should be a $100 fee because our tax rate in Florida is greater than Maryland's and my car was purchased in the past 7 years, is this correct? The wording on their website is confusing for us Maryland noobs.
BTW you folks weren't shi**in me when you said it was expensive to live up here.

Nope, you still pay $100

Vehicle(s) titled in a state with a tax rate equal to or higher than Maryland's 6% tax rate will cost $100.
Sory, see you got that. Ignore these guys. There is still a registration fee and a few other little ones.

It's confusing for everyone else, too. Try to understand their hunting and fishing regulations if you really want to frustrate yourself.

Thanks! I guess I was spoiled down in Florida. No inspections/emissions. I don't live extravagantly but I don't see how someone who makes less than 40k could survive up here. Maybe I should be more frugal lol

I would have stayed in Florida. Welcome to Maryland.
