Exclamation Need Good Accountant

Thanks you USN for royally screwing up our income and taxes last year. As a result I need to hire a really good accountant instead of doing it myself as I have done for the last 10 years. I'm not even willing to let HRB or JH touch it because I don't want any mistakes. Anyone have any recommendations???

Do you need an accountant, a financial advisor, a tax preparer, or all three? All are different and neither can do the other's job effectively. My advice - save your money and buy TurboTax. Fudge a little here and there and throw a party with your savings after 7 years if the IRS didn't catch you.

JRJ does good work if you have very basic taxes or if you have a business and want to leave money in the IRS hands because JRJ doesn't want to take deductions that you KNOW you are entitled to but they don't know about.

Turbo Tax is the way to go.

Gotta agree here. I've known several people who have used their services and did not get back nearly what they should have.

We used to do our own taxes. Thought it was straighforward and easy. Finally a friend convinced me to get an accountant. We gave Pam at Pam's Accounting all our stuff, including last years tax return which we did via turbo tax.
Not only did she do a bang up job with this years return, but also found an error in last years that resulted in us getting money back instead of paying. She did the amended return. I always thought you couldn't screw up with turbo tax - but we did - and I consider us to be competent.

Here is who we used: Pam at Pam's Accounting and Tax Service.
301-373-4600 - she was recommended on here. Been doing taxes forever.

Good luck!
