Can't see over grass at intersections

I know that the decision was made not to cut grass in medians and on the sides of road as often as they used to so that they can save some money, but it is getting ridiculous. I have a car, not a truck or SUV, therefore I am lower to the ground. In the last few days I have been at 2 stop signs, 1 in St. Mary's and 1 in Charles, where I could not see over the grass to see if a car was coming before pulling out. I literally had to pull into the intersection to see. I am all for saving money, but not when it impacts safety.

This should go in my Peeve thread because this annoys me, too.

Cut the damn grass!!! And pull up those baby trees growing in the median strips while you're at it.

This weekend neighbors got together and cut the grass on the sides of our 5+ mile long paved road. We hit the intersections and then some, just too many close calls. Got tired of waiting for DOT.

It totally looks like crap around here, they've only cut once this year and that was over 2 months ago. I just noticed yesterday that the grass towers over the fire hydrants. And you're right, when I drive hubby's car I can't see when pulling out of some intersections which is definitely a big issue. So glad we're taxed to all hell for our streets look like we live in the ghetto. I can't cut the grass down our road because it's a windy 2 lane road with no shoulder and all wooded embankments.

Have you noticed how the idiots at SHA keep accepting road designs that call for all kinds of landscaping yet after the roads are built, SHA fails to keep them up? For the last 5 years I've had to contact Sen. Dyson to have SHA cut the friggin' grass in the median strip along 235 in the California to Lex Park corridor. It seems to be the only way to get SHA to do anything! But, it does work!

No worries!!!! Us rich people that live here in this real fine state of MD will soon be paying more taxes...so the grass will be beautiful and trimmed neatly. Oh yeah, and the roads will be paved beautifully, with straight yellow lines.... I just can't wait~~!

Yeah, as if the entire tax increase wasn't already bound to the Universities to pay the in-state tuition for illegals and car payments for entitled classes. Should be a good year for BMW and Mercedes dealerships since these two-year-old cars are so 'last-year'!
