Dear Cashiers

When you make change, and you pile it in my hand with the receipt on the bottom, and a pile of coins on top - and you do this so fast that I cannot move my hand in time to avoid the pain in the ass that is to follow - it makes me want to throw the money on the floor and punch you in the face.

That is all.

That seems to be the standard now. Gone are the days where they actually counted back your change.

Thats because most of them cant even make change without the help of the cash register. If you dont believe me, wait until they have punched everything in and are ready to give you your change, and then say "here I have the pennies"..

My cashiers are trained to NOT use the cash register to determine the change due and to count the money back- starting with the coins first. We DO use the calculator at times however I want them to know how to make change (as sooo many people do not know how to)
I get many compliments on this!

Feel blessed that you actually have enough money to have to endure getting change back.
In today's economy, many don't have this privilege.

It's not petty. It's a pain in the ass. I would like very much to count my change to make sure I haven't been shafted, but when they just dump it in your hand it's not easy. And if there are impatient people waiting behind you, they get upset if you take the time. I want to count it BEFORE I get pushed aside.
