Geothermal costs per ton Hello, I am thinking of replacing my oil heat and air/air cooling system with geothermal within the next year. I am going to get an estimate very soon, but am curious to know what people are paying per ton in this area for a geothermal system. Please specify whether the per ton cost you quote includes drilling and duct work. I have posted about this before, and have saved any answers I got - just hoping for additional input. Thank you!

For geothermal your looking at about 7k+/- per ton for drilled wells. Ductwork modifications will require site visit for estimate. Another to consider if you are seriously considering geothermal is that MD has increased rebate amount to $3000. Up from the previous $1000. Feel free to call me if you would like to further discuss 410-257-2515 SJ

My data is outta date (our geothermal unit was updated 8 years ago) it was about $4000 at that time, to bring it up to date from being 30+ years old.

| Our Geothermalunit cost an extra $12K back in 1995 when we built the house. Problems were over the years were that all original equipment went bad, whole system installed by Winslow Pump and Well. Used Winters for service as they had the geo expert, when anyone else came they did not know what to do. Unfortunately, he was injured on a job. Went to Tr-County Aire and have gradually replaced all three parts, (split system) with Water Furnace. Geo much much better than air source, no cold winds in Winter like I had in old house. Good luck, get good equipment, they have gotten much better over the years. We also use the geo for hot water, extra pipe is needed. And we have seven wells.

Not sure about pricing tonnage wise but you can figure 13k-20k depending on the number of wells and that would pertain to the tonnage
