Lawn Care

I'm looking for someone to aerate, seed, and fertilize some troublesome areas this fall. Total area less than an acre. Anyone have recommendations?

I like CD but I asked him to do my yard 4 years ago or so and haven't seen him yet. Gave me a price, said it would be in the spring, I called again and she said probably next week, and that was the end of that. If your focus is on bigger jobs then just say it and don't waste either of our time.

MRW Lawns (MRW Lawns) did a lovely job with my townhouse yard. They killed off the crab grass that I previously had, aerated, put down new soil and seed. They also come out every few months to spray for this, that and the other thing.

They also did a BEAUTIFUL job with my neighbor's patio.

ETA: They are also very easy to get a hold of and actually keep to their promised schedule! Good communication.

I would AVOID Tru Green! They took my money up front, never showed up and it took several months and phone calls to their corporate office and the Better Business Bureau to get my money back.

I had them at my Waldorf house and my lawn looked amazing in just one season. Something i couldn't do in 5 years with Scotts fertilizer from Lowes. They never tried to pressure sell anything and were very easy to deal with. You can say you'll do some of the work and they knocked the price down.

Their phone number says that they are on vacation until August 1st and leave a message. Then it tells you the messages are full. I think we need a welfare check.

Both Scotts and Tru-Green are RIP-OFFS! Last fall, there were a lot of small independent landscaping companies driving through neighborhoods offering to aerate and seed at half the price the big companies were charging. Might pay to keep an eye out.

Ya' gotta' be careful with that. We had a guy who does lawn work on the side work on our lawn, and it just got worse. I think when he aerated, he brought in some weed seeds on his aerator. Now we have weeds that we didn't have before he came.
