Well, that is the point, imo, we are a union and need to fight for that entity under democracy, not socialist, communist, etc. State/county flags are secondary to the US flag; it is just nice to see the local flags because it gives you a sense of "home", but we are all in this together. Actually, Calvert should change the flag from a tobacco leaf, because tobacco use is going the way of "Gone With the Wind".
Why should Calvert change the flag does it mater tobacco is a thing of the past, should we all not be proud of our past...tobacoo farmers and watermen made this area for years before the base. My family has been here from the beginning and they were tobacco farmers and I am not ashamed of that I spent more then my fair time in a tobacco field. Why are we so set on forgetting the past just because we are better educated now to understand the effects of something like tobacco and the harm it causes. We should be proud of our hertiage ....well I could go on forever. But maybe your families roots had to start here to understand how I feel.

I didn't even think about it that way; just in a modern sense. You are right, and me being a history nut, I should have given it more thought. Tobacco was a huge part of the economy that made Calvert thrive, and many have lost their way of life due to the disappearance of tobacco farms. That is what is good about this forum; members contribute alternate ways of thinking about things. I do understand how you feel. Thanks for your input!

I didn't get defensive, I'm not going to argue about it. If you don't have an answer to the OP, then don't answer. I don't care to get into a jejune argument about who took what tone.
Who the hell says jejune?

No. The pic is way too small.
