Traffic rant......

Okay, Rt 5 between Park Hall road and Willows, and Willow itself are tedious enough at the set limits of 50 and 40 resepectively, but JEBBUS CHRISTMAS ON FLIPPIN BROKEN CRUTCH, AT LEAST DO THAT SPEED LIMIT!!!!!! (hit the 12 image limit)

Willows at 30 is maddening. Really, watching paint dry is more attention getting. And Rt 5 at 40 is just as bad.

You think that's bad, I traveled Rt 235 from Hollyrock to the Dorf on Tuesday when we had that little bit of rain - 50mph - both lanes! UGH!!!!! Left lane hogs irk the crap out of me - especially @ 50, and most definitely when they speed up and slow down with the car in the right lane!

Every day I work, 36 or so miles from the apartment near Rte 4 and 3 Notch in California to the 2500 block of Crain Hwy in Waldorf...

I've lived many places east of the Mississippi and Missouri...WHY, OH WHY, do the world's worst drivers precede me!?

If Maryland is the "Land of Pleasant Living," why are there so many crazies driving?

If Maryland is the "Land of Pleasant Living," should not the attitude (even behind a wheel) be more relaxed!?

Q. How many dumbasses can you see driving in the fog without their headlights on?
A. None, till you almost run into them

I live south of the base. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the heavy commute traffic on a daily basis. When 235 was widened however many years ago, it wasn't widened nearly enough. Another two lanes in each direction would be a start.

Really, it's not a huge deal, I do love my nine minute, seven mile commute, and normally this isnt an issue in the mornings or afternoons. It's on Saturday and Sunday. And some super slow people do move over and let folks get by, but these last thee or four days, it's been a constant thing, at least twice a day.

People ask me why I retired at a relatively young age. It was the commute that played a large part in my decision. I chose to live here, 45+ miles from Arlington, but I saw the traffic and driving get much worse as this area began to grow...meaning the DMV. I think the planners in Waldorf have done a pretty good job of road construction, timing of lights, etc. and that makes all the difference in the world as you navigate in, and to their credit, around Waldorf! I've heard the horror stories about 235 and 4. I think I'm glad I didn't have to make that commute even though it would have been shorter...sounds more aggravating!

I feel ya glhs. 234 west of Clements is a longgggggg open, mostly straight road. The speed limit is 55. Oh the idiots that drive 50...

Good thing is; lots of room to pass. Bad thing is; road is often busy and you have to wait for an opening.
