| Had this same conversation with a friend years ago. He then told me that he does this o purpose; claimed in helped keep him awake and alert. It's been at least 40 years ago, but I'm still shaking me head! |

Lead, follow or get the #### out of the way. Lead at a decent pace as conditions allow. If you're not comfortable leading as fast as conditions allow (plenty of open room ahead, people bottled up behind you) follow BUT, then follow at the pace of the leader. If you are not comfortable following at the leaders pace (people bottled up behind you) GET THE #### OUT OF THE WAY.

Lead, follow or GTF out of the way. The best is taking turns being lead dog with another driver or two, sharing the ticket risk. The worst is that bumper riding dip #### who, once he gets up front, freezes up. Poor leadership.

| I hate competing on the roads. It's dangerous. So I stay out of the way but try to keep pace with the general flow of traffic. I hate "pack" driving, a daily experience, so whatever lane I'm in and at whatever the overall speed of traffic, I keep what I consider to be safe following distance. And I don't play "leapfrog." I do whatever's necessary to drop out of that game, including driving the Speed Limit. |
